How to socialize a Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat?

The period of socialization in cats occurs during the first stage of their life, between two and seven weeks of age. What Hypoallergenic Siberian Cats learn is how to interact with other animals and people.

It’s very important to provide many experiences with the world around him, not only just interacting with others, but also getting used to their different noises, smells, sights, sensations.

Kittens can do it very easily during this specific age. After these first weeks, it will be very difficult to socialize them correctly and they may fear people and other animals for the rest of their life.

Your Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat will react with caution in the future to possible dangers but will not be afraid to daily actions.

Kittens learn many social skills from their mum, brothers and sisters. This is why it’s important keeping them with their family for up to twelve weeks of age. However it is also important handling and interacting with humans for their development into a happy, sociable companion.

It’s crucial not to handle them too long during the first days of life, their mum could refuse them. After that, early handling speeds up their physical development and improves their socialization.

Once the kittens open their eyes and ears are fully functional, they will be ready to start absorbing new experiences. It’s time to continue handling the kittens daily and start providing new sights, sounds, smells and sensations.

At four weeks of age, kittens will be able to eat dry food and they will feel freer. From now on they will start getting interested in chasing movement objects. Now it’s the perfect moment to introduce interactive toys for them.

As part of their socialization, kittens need to walk on different surfaces including carpet, gravel, concrete or grass. If possible, allow your Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat to enjoy some time outdoors but don’t let him alone and unsupervised. Remember there are many dangers outside and it’s your responsibility to take care of your lovely pet.

You have to encourage them to investigate and explore different kind of objects and materials. Toys are very important in these first weeks of life. Let them play with cardboard boxes, papers, woods and any kind of toy for kittens. They will get used to it and will feel comfortable being in touch with all that stuff. Try to change these toys frequently so that they don’t get bored. Siberian Cats are very intelligent; they need new incentives on a regular basis.

Don’t forget your Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat is a feline and needs scratching constantly. Provide him with a scratching post and teach them not use other objects for this purpose.

And remember giving your Siberian Cat all love he or she deserve.
