Do Hypoallergenic Siberian Cats get lonely if left home alone over the Holidays?

When holidays arrive, there is always the same question about how to take care of your cat, in this case our Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat. Some people think that cats can be left alone for many days with a bowl full of food and a litter box. But it’s not true, Siberian Cats are much more than that and no responsible pet owner would leave his/her Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat with no sitter for more than a couple of days.

Here are some good reasons to understand why you would need someone to come home and take care of your lovely pet.

1- Your cat will miss you. Cats can spend time alone but they will need human interaction after a certain point. After that they can get lonely and feel sad if you aren’t around. Some people think cats cannot get lonely because sometimes they don’t show it as much as other animals like dogs. If you’re away for many days, your Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat could get hoarse and even stop eating.

2- Possible emergencies. Sometimes accidents happen. You only will be able to help if you’re at home. We don’t mean you need to keep looking after your cat 24 hours a day. But you never know what could happen to your Siberian Cat if you leave him/her for too long. If someone is visiting your pet when you’re away it’ll be easier to solve any possible emergency.

3- Litter box, food and water. These are essentials for your cat. It’s really important to keep enough food and fresh water for your cat. What if your Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat spill all the water on the floor? Your lovely pet could get dehydrated. About the litter box, it should be scooped at least once a day to avoid possible diseases. It’s always better if someone come home and take care of your cat.

4 – Siberian Cats need stimuli and interaction. They can develop behavior challenges if they are left alone for many days without comanionship. Your cat will be very pleased if a sitter come in and play with he or she during at least an hour a day. Regular interaction is an important part of cats’ worlds.

Depending on the cat and the circumstances, your Hypoallergenic Siberian Cat can become more or less stressed when taken to different environments. You know your pet better than anyone. Try to help him or her to live with the minimum possible stress when you are away.
